RYDA – Grade 10 Driver Awareness
On Friday September 16 all Grade 10 students will attend the RYDA Safe driving day. RYDA is a one-day program, conducted at an out of school venue, chosen to highlight crucial road safety messages. Supporting the graduate licensing schemes, the program focuses on the key government ‘big five’ road safety issues of speeding, drugs & alcohol, fatigue, seatbelts and distractions as well as the importance of driving as a social responsibility.
Further details have been emailed to parents via Parent Paperwork, however, parents can find detailed information and tips on how they can help with the road safety education of their son by visiting: http://www.rse.org.au/category/ryda/parent-resources/
Footy Colours Day
An initiative of the Sport Leaders is the organization of Footy Colours Day, to be held on the final day of Term Three, Friday September 23. This day allows boys to wear some footy colours (or colours of any sports team), such as a jumper/scarf or other supporter attire, whilst at school. Boy must travel to and from school in their normal uniform and can change when at school.
The day raises funds for the Fight Cancer Foundation, which support children and young people who are living with cancer. As a fundraiser any boy wearing footy colours on the day is asked for a gold coin donation.
