STCPSSA Football: Denison vs Franklin

Hamish Menzie, James Wilson, Harry Williams, Harry Cornelius and Baden Wallis were the chosen SVC representatives in the annual STCPSSA Denison vs Franklin Football game held at Dominic College yesterday afternoon.  In what proved to be a hotly contested and skilful game of football, Denison were the eventual winners with our very own James Wilson kicking the winning goal.

Here are observations from, and I quote, Miss Lack: ‘Hamish Menzie was everywhere’, and ‘Harry Williams was in fine form exhibiting his silky moves’, reminiscent perhaps of his uncle Paul Williams, a legend of the Sydney Swans football team.

Harry Williams said that the key was, ‘everybody played well as a team’, Hamish was impressed with ‘the hard ball gets’, Baden Wallis thought ,’speed was a factor and James Wilson said that all in all is was ‘great fun’.

There was a great crowd supporting the game with a ‘fantastic staff turn-out to support our boys’.  Mrs Chambers said it was a ‘good precursor and omen for Geelong’s next outing.

Without any bias, it was agreed the SVC boys stood out during the game, in their overall tenacity, skill and team play.  Congratulations to all boys who participated in the game. Thanks also to Coach  Mr Matt Kean and Assistant Coaches, Mr Peter Rasmussen and Mr Brad Hastie.

SVC vs Hutchins: Football and Soccer: September 23

Each year Mr Berry, (Hutchins Sport Coordinator) and myself organise an annual football match with our Grade 6 Football team.  This year we will be playing a soccer game as well.  These games will take place next Friday.  At this point in time both of these games will be taking place at the SVC Senior Campus, commencing at 1pm.  Football will be played on the main oval and soccer on the JPC.  (The venue for soccer may need to change but parents will be notified).  Letters, with more details, will be going home with the boys involved in these games today.
