Tasmanian High School Basketball Championships

The senior and junior teams played some determined basketball over the weekend just failing to come away with a championship medal.

The senior team won the 3rd place play off 75-18 against Riverside High School, after a close six point loss to Sacred Heart in the semi final. Prior to the semi final the team defeated Marist College Burnie and St Patrick's College, Launceston. A great team effort and a fitting end to a highly successful season.

The Grade 7&8 team put in an amazing effort to finish in 4th Place.  Following a great pool win over New Town HS the boys were drawn to play a star studded Riverside HS team in the semi final, eventually losing 49-59. This took its toll and they literally ran out of legs in the play off for 3rd and 4th. Well done boys.

Cricket - Grade 7&8 Finals

1 v 2 Play Off

3 v 4 Play Off

SVC Blue 5/107 (19 overs) defeated Hutchins Black 105 (20).

A hard fought, well played game full of strategy. Good team effort.

SVC Sailing

Last Sunday the College offered Try Sailing days at the Marine Education Centre (MEC). A warm strong breeze offered a few of the Junior school boys a chance to try their skills in the Pacers and enjoy a healthy swim from the middle of the river back to shore!

There will be more ‘Sailing’ days on offer at the MEC next year during Term 1.  However if you are keen to experience and get involved with Sailing before then, I strongly encourage boys to get along and tackle a “Tacker Course” which are available during the summer holidays at many of the local Sailing Clubs.
