Tonight, as we gather to celebrate the graduation of our Grade 10 students, we acknowledge the words and the deeds of these young men who each in their own way have lived out our College values of Community Justice and Respect.

In the words of the Nobel Prize winning rock star beat poet Bob Dylan, in his beautiful tribute Forever Young, we wish them all peace and blessings for tonight and into the future.

May God bless and keep you always,

May your wishes all come true,

May you always do for others

And let others do for you.

We recognise the countless hours of Service they have given to others; in their own community as sporting coaches, mentors, firefighters and peer support leaders and in the work they have done nationally and internationally through Caritas, Vinnies, Reconciliation and not least their engaging work for and presence at the Mary Rice Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

May you build a ladder to the stars

And climb on every rung,

and may you stay forever young

We share in their growing ambitions and hopes for where their futures may take them and acknowledge the risks they have been prepared to take when setting themselves new challenges and goals.

May you grow up to be righteous,

May you grow up to be true,

May you always know the truth

And see the lights surrounding you.

We take pride in every moment where their response has been one of integrity and truth, where they have been critical of assumptions and sought to make up their own minds about what is honourable and just.

May you always be courageous,

Stand upright and be strong,

and may y you stay forever young

We acknowledge the countless times and places that they have stood up for what is right, either on their own or by standing strong together, in the classroom, on the sporting field, on the buses and marching together on the streets, in parades, protests and rallies.

May your hands always be busy,

May your feet always be swift,

May you have a strong foundation

When the winds of changes shift.

We recognise the hard work they have put into their studies, particularly during their recent exams and the contribution they have made to extra-curricular programmes, often while balancing part time jobs and commitments to families and friends.

May your heart always be joyful,

May your song always be sung,

and may stay forever young.

Most of all we celebrate the cheerful, fun, energetic and boundless enthusiasm of a great bunch of young men, and may they stay Forever Young.
