Group Support for Children Bereaved by Cancer

Seasons for Growth for Children Bereaved by Cancer Oct-Nov 2016

Cancer Council Tasmania will be running the Seasons for Growth® grief and loss education program for 5 weeks starting on the 26th October to 23rd November from

4.00-5.30pm at the Bishop Hays Centre (Behind St David’s Cathedral) in Hobart.

The project aims to support children aged 9-12 who have been bereaved by cancer. The child could be the offspring, sibling or grandchild of someone who has died of cancer.

Seasons for Growth® is an evidence-based, evaluated program that provides an opportunity for children to learn the knowledge, skills and attitudes to understand and respond well to the changes and loss associated with bereavement. Children attend a small group program over 5 weeks after school with peers who have been through similar experiences of loss.
