    ST VIRGIL’S COLLEGE UNIFORM SHOP

    The St Virgil’s Uniform Shop will close for the School Holidays

    On Thursday September 22 at 4.00 pm

    The store will Re-open on Monday October 10 at 8.00am.

     

    Term 4 Trading Hours

     

    Monday October  10                         Open 8.00am to 4.00pm

    Tuesday October 11                          Open 8.00am to 4.00pm

    Thursday October 13                          Open 8.00am to 4.00 pm

     

    The St Virgil’s Uniform Shop will then return to normal opening times

    Tuesday & Thursday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm. (Closed Royal Hobart Show Day)

    Long Sleeve Sport Training Top

    The SVC Long sleeve sport training top is available from the Uniform Shop and can be worn by students as an under-garment for PE and sport days. It provides great warmth during the colder months and complements the current uniform very well. The SVC long sleeve sport training top must always be worn below the House T-shirt and/or the College polo shirt during school time and sporting events. The only time it is permitted to be worn as the outer garment is during specified school sport training sessions. 

    College Sports Bag

    The Uniform Shop also has supplies of the College sports bag which should be used to bring sport and PE gear to and from school. Students should not be using local football, basketball or soccer clubs bags for this purpose. The sports bag can also be used for camps and excursions however it must not be used as an alternative to the College School Bag which is a compulsory uniform item.

    Senior School Fair - Monday November 14 

    A very big thank you to all parents who offered their assistance manning or coordinating stalls, and/or donating goods and prizes for the 2016 FAIR – the response has been fantastic!

     

    All those parents who so kindly offered their help or made donations will be contacted by Julie Doran or their Stall Coordinator, over the next few weeks.

     

    All donated goods and prizes can be left at the School Office up until Friday November 11- clearly marked or labelled “Fair 2016 Donation”.

     

    SENIOR SCHOOL MAJOR RAFFLE

    All families will receive raffle books during the last week of this term so please keep asking your sons if they have them in their bag so that you can start selling them !

     

    This year's major raffle prize is a 6x4 Trailer and Groceries !!

     

    This is a fantastic prize which I am sure all families could put to good use.

     

    If you would like more raffle books to sell – please contact the Senior School Office.

    Group Support for Children Bereaved by Cancer

    Seasons for Growth for Children Bereaved by Cancer Oct-Nov 2016

     Cancer Council Tasmania will be running the Seasons for Growth® grief and loss education program for 5 weeks starting on the 26th October to 23rd November from

    4.00-5.30pm at the Bishop Hays Centre (Behind St David’s Cathedral) in Hobart.

     

    The project aims to support children aged 9-12 who have been bereaved by cancer. The child could be the offspring, sibling or grandchild of someone who has died of cancer.

     

    Seasons for Growth® is an evidence-based, evaluated program that provides an opportunity for children to learn the knowledge, skills and attitudes to understand and respond well to the changes and loss associated with bereavement. Children attend a small group program over 5 weeks after school with peers who have been through similar experiences of loss.

    GCC is part of Cricket Tasmania’s elite Premier League competition and provides quality coaching and playing opportunities, plus youth pathways for Hobarts’ northern suburbs, the Derwent Valley corridor and southern midlands.

    REGISTRATION FEES: $30 which covers cost of equipment, gym hire, coaching tuition.
