Enrolment Terms & Conditions

  • St Virgil's College is an independent Catholic School conducted by Edmund Rice Education Australia.
  • The purpose of the College is to provide a Catholic education in which spiritual, moral, intellectual, cultural, social and physical development take place. Boys will study Religious Education from Grade 3 to 10 and will be expected to participate respectfully in masses, liturgies, retreats and other experiences.
  • Parents and students will, through attitude and action, respect the Catholic ethos of the College and cooperate fully in all that promotes their complete education.
  • Parents will take an active part where possible in the activities of the College and cooperate with the College in providing their son's education.
  • Students are required to participate in outdoor camps and excursions organised for their class and in College celebration days. It is expected that students will represent the College if chosen for co-curricular activities.
  • Students are to wear the uniform of the College properly so as to develop pride in personal appearance as well as develop a sense of belonging and responsibility, whilst upholding the traditions of St Virgil’s.
  • Students are to care for the buildings, furniture and equipment of the College as well as the personal property of staff, parents and students and are financially responsible for damage caused through carelessness or neglect.
  • A student may not leave the College property during school hours without permission of his House Leader, the Principal or Deputy Principal. Students must follow published absence procedures if leaving the College.
  • Whether at the College, at a College function, or travelling, students are not permitted tobacco, non-prescribed drugs or alcoholic drinks.
  • The College has an expectation that parents/guardians will support the activities of the College and will work with staff to maximise educational opportunities for boys at St Virgil’s. This support extends to respecting actions taken by the College in response to student misbehaviour.
  • Parents/guardians acknowledge that St Virgil’s has published grievance procedures for dealing with any issues and agree to following these procedures should events warrant such action.
  • The signatory parent/guardians accept responsibility for the payment of all fees and charges levied by the College as outlined in this enrolment form.
  • Students and parents agree to abide by the College’s on line usage policy when using the College’s internet facilities, including student and parent portals.
  • Parents acknowledge that the College has an enrolment policy available on this website and enrolment offers will be made in line with the published criteria contained in the policy.
  • The College offers Counselling and other professional services to students. Staff will make every effort to involve and inform parents, giving due consideration to relevant professional standards and protocols.
  • The Principal reserves the right to cancel the enrolment of any student whose influence is regarded as harmful to the interests of other students.
  • In the event of injury/illness of a student, the Principal is empowered to take whatever action is considered necessary for the well-being of students. The Principal will immediately notify the parent/s and seek permission for any significant medical treatment.
