Mary Rice Day Walkathon

Over the past few days your son would have received his sponsorship form for our annual walkathon for the Mary Rice Centre. During the week we received an email from Br Gerald at the Mary Rice Centre, who is also getting on board and staging the inaugural Mary Rice Centre Walkathon in Nairobi. The great thing about that is that our seven student pilgrims and three staff will be able to participate. The difference between our walkathon and the Mary Rice one is that in Nairobi they are holding it on a Saturday morning from 7am until 1pm, and the planned distance is 21kms!This is significant as many of the young people involved at the school cannot walk so to attempt 21kms either being pushed or carried, will be a significant challenge for all.

Over the coming weeks we will prepare our young men for their journey to Africa and take the opportunity on Mary Rice Day to farewell them, asking them to take all of our love and support to our friends in Nairobi.

I encourage all boys to dig deep as the money does go a long way to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

This is just one of many special events and achievements that are highlighted in this newsletter so please read on ....
