From the Principal

As a Catholic school in the Edmund Rice tradition, this week marks a significant part of our faith journey each year. On Wednesday of this week the 40 day Lenten period commenced. During this time we will follow the Jesus story leading up to his great sacrifice for all of us on the cross on Good Friday, followed by his triumphant resurrection on Sunday. This story is what our whole faith is based upon and it is important that we take the time to remember, reflect, and honour that story.

We commenced our preparation for the Lenten period on both sides with the traditional Shrove Tuesday Pancake morning which is seen as part of the final celebration before heading into the traditional fasting for lent.  On Wednesday we held our Ash Wednesday ceremonies where each boy was marked with the sign of the cross in ashes on his forehead and was asked to turn away from sin and be faithful to the Gospel.

It is at this time we ask our young men to think about how, during this period, they can be different....

This edition of The Star contains a wealth of information about how boys can live this 'difference' - so please read on and enjoy!

In the spirit of Blessed Edmund,
