Vol. 6, Ed.17 8th July 2020

From the Acting Principal

We should be so proud of the boys from the Junior School who are members of Minnie Viinnies Group. Over the past month the boys have been actively fundraising and this week were able to use the funds raised to purchase 19 sleeping bags that will be presented to Bethlehem House next week. The boys have actively driven this fundraising project and have done incredibly well to raise over $700 from the relatively small Junior School community.

I would like to thank Mrs Chambers for her encouragement and support of the boys who through their deeds have shown what it means to be a St Virgil's boy of faith and service.

There are many examples of our boys supporting our community and being people of service who stand up for others in need.  Mary Rice Day tomorrow is a strong example of our commitment to serve and support others, particularly those in need. I know our boys and families will respond in a positive way and support our brothers and sisters from the Mary Rice Centre through our walkathon.

In this week's edition of The Star there are countless examples of our boys' service to others - please enjoy reading about it and please remember to tell your sons how proud you are of them when they support others in our world and stand up for what is right and just.

In the spirit of Blessed Edmund,

Terry Blizzard
Acting Principal
