Vol. 6, Ed.11 14th July 2020

From the Acting Principal

Today a number of staff including Mr Messer and I, supported by a number of students are gathering to pay our respects and to celebrate the life of Alex Gadomski (SVC 2008-11). Alex has battled a lengthy illness, always with dignity and determination, and with the loving support of his family by his side. We cannot imagine the pain that his family and friends are feeling but we take comfort from the knowledge that Alex is now at eternal rest with his loving God.

The passing of young people is always difficult to comprehend and tests our faith in the notion of a loving God.  In Ballarat Victoria last week, a family involved with the St Patrick's College EREA community, lost their until that time, healthy 19 year old daughter to meningococcal disease. We also send our prayers to the Ballarat community and to all others dealing with grief.

In praying for Alex, his family and friends, it is timely to give thanks for the many blessings we all have and to commit to living our life to the full. This is God's promise to us that those who live in Christ will also die in Christ and experience his eternal love.

"I came that they may have life, and have it to the full” John 10:10

On behalf of the St Virgil’s College community we extend our very deepest sympathies to Alex's loving and devoted parents, Paul and Janet, and to his brothers Jordan (SVC 2011-14) and Lachlan (SVC 2013-16). May Alex’s soul rest in peace.

This has been another busy week at St Virgil's, so please enjoy The Star and catch up on all the news from across both campuses of the College.

In the spirit of Blessed Edmund,

Terry Blizzard
Acting Principal
