From the Acting Principal

This Sunday is Palm Sunday in the Christian tradition, the final Sunday of Lent, the beginning of Holy Week, and the day that commemorates the triumphant arrival of Jesus into Jerusalem days before he was crucified on Good Friday. Palm Sunday is explained in the Gospels as Jesus entering Jerusalem riding a young donkey to the lavish praise of the townspeople who threw palms or small branches in front of him as a sign of homage. This was a customary practice for people of great respect.

Easter is a time of great ritual and celebration for our faith, and so it is important that our boys understand the significance of this time to the Catholic Church. I would encourage families to consider attending Church services, particularly on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

There is much to read and enjoy as ever in The Star this week!

In the spirit of Blessed Edmund,

Terry Blizzard
