Vol. 5, Ed.37 6th July 2020

From the Principal

Tomorrow we are very excited to be officially Opening and Blessing the Galvin Wing. Our wonderfully re-developed learning and teaching space will be opened by Senator The Hon. Eric Abetz and Blessed by our College Patron, His Grace, Most Rev Julian Porteous, Archbishop of Hobart. It is timely that we will be opening and blessing the Galvin Wing as we commence work on our next building project, the re-development of the 1962 Dwyer Wing.

Whilst having excellent teachers work with our students to deliver engaging, inspiring and challenging lessons is the most important ingredient in increasing learning outcomes, having contemporary learning spaces which align pedagogy and curriculum with facility design is also significant in improving learning outcomes for our boys. It is therefore pleasing that with the support of government and the foresight of our Board that we have been able to upgrade all learning and teaching spaces on both campuses over the past decade.

All members of the College community are most welcome to attend the Opening and Blessing which commences at 9.15am in the Quad.  I look forward to sharing this special event with you.

In the spirit of Blessed Edmund,
