Vol. 8 Ed. 11 15th July 2020

From the Principal

As the busy year continues, I welcome back all the students for the commencement of another term. I hope everyone had a restful break and looking forward to a productive and enjoyable Term Two.

The great representation of St Virgil’s College at the ANZAC Day ceremonies last week was wonderful to see. My thanks to all who participated in the marches or who attended one of the ceremonies commemorating the fallen soldiers and the many people around the world whose lives have been affected by war.

Edmund Rice Mass and Founder’s Day

The College community comes together tomorrow to celebrate the Feast of Blessed Edmund Rice. Joining us for the 10.30am Mass will be students and staff from other schools around Tasmania.  Parents are most welcome to attend the Mass which is being held at the Austins Ferry campus. If you would like to attend, please email mnugent@stvirgils.tas.edu.au so that seating can be arranged.

After Mass, the students will listen to guest speakers before an afternoon of activities to celebrate our Founder’s Day. Lunch on the day will be provided and I thank in advance the hard working Parents & Friends Committee members for volunteering their time to feed all the students.

Please read on to find out more about the many other events and achievements of students over the past weeks.

In the spirit of Blessed Edmund Rice,

Damian Messer
